-Set to distribute 1000 school bags, writing materials to students

In continuation of its support for educational development, the I – Heroes (Ikorodu Heroes), a social, political and developmental platform, has perfected plans to distribute 1000 school bags and writing materials to students across Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria.
Schools listed to benefit from the first phase of the gesture are: Eleja Primary School, Igbogbo, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA; Togedejoye Primary School, Ojokoro, Ikorodu West LCDA and UNA Primary School, Imota.
As part of efforts by the group to ensure a well – coordinated exercise, they visited the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Ikorodu, Local Government, where they interfaced with the Education Secretary, Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo, on the distribution.

The organisation, through its President and General Secretary, Mr Olanshile Majolagbe and Oke Godwin OlaOluwa respectively, disclosed this on Tuesday during a chat with THE IMPACT.
It will recalled that the I – Heroes group LLC has over the years intervened in educational, political and general community development initiatives – providing portable water for schools, rehabilitating school toilets, supporting school students with GCE and JAMB forms and sponsoring campaigns against drug abuse and violence in various schools among others.
I – Heroes President, Majolagbe, speaking said that the idea is to empower future leaders and ensure that students are not prevented from acquiring education:

“I-Heroes Back2School Campaign is an initiative dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders by ensuring that every child in underserved communities of Ikorodu Division has access to quality education.
“The purpose of this campaign is simple yet powerful: to reduce the barriers that prevent children from staying in school and thriving academically. Too many young learners in Ikorodu Division face challenges such as lack of school supplies, uniforms, and basic learning materials. These challenges often lead to absenteeism, poor academic performance, and in some cases, children dropping out entirely.
“Through this initiative, I-Heroes is bridging the gap by providing essential school kits, mentorship, and support that will enable these children to return to school with confidence, dignity, and hope.”

Emphasising the importance of education further, I – Heroes the President said Back2School is part of their agenda of investing in the pupils/students in Ikorodu so as to have responsible community developers.
“Education is more than just books and classrooms — it is the foundation of growth and development for both the child and the community. When a child gains access to education, they acquire the tools to break cycles of poverty, unlock opportunities, and contribute positively to society.
“For Ikorodu, this campaign is not just about sending children back to school, but about investing in the future of our community, nurturing responsible citizens, and creating a stronger, more resilient local economy.

“The I-Heroes Back2School Campaign is therefore a call to action. It reminds us that it takes a community to raise a child, and when we invest in the education of our young ones, we invest in the future of Ikorodu Duvision, Lagos State, and Nigeria at large.”
Majolagbe, added that 100 bags would be distributed in each of the three listed in the first phase.
“We are launching the first phse of our program by distributing 100 bags per school to three selected schools within Ikorodu Division: Eleja Primary School, Igbogbo; Togedejoye Primary Shool, Agric and UNA School, Igbalu”
He thanked partners, donors, volunteers, and community stakeholders for their support in not only giving children a chance to learn but also giving them the confidence to dream and the power to achieve.
At the LGEA, Mr Oke OlaOluwa speaking on what engagement of I – Heroes over the years means said:

“We are professionals and basically, we try to give back to our community. We have intervention in several sectors – education, health, security, Precisely on education, we have been able to rehabilitate borehole water projects in about five primary schools in Ikorodu Division.
